THE GILLARD ROWING CENTER
The Gillard Rowing Center, in Findley Lake, N.Y., houses the Mercyhurst College fleet of Hudson and Filippi eights and fours. Findley Lake provides a sheltered piece of water on which to train, allowing for optimal water training in the fall and spring seasons.
Student-athletes also make great use of indoor training facilities on campus in Erie, Pa. The rowing facility is equipped with 20 Concept II training ergometers and a 10-station indoor rowing tank. This allows the coaches and athletes to work closely together to improve rowing technique and train throughout the winter. Student-athletes also utilize weight training and conditioning equipment in the Recreation and Fitness Center.
The team celebrates spring break in late February by traveling south for ten days of training. This training camp is a great way to get intense water training while enhancing team unity.

FINDLEY LAKE NATURE AND WILDLIFE EDUCATION CENTER
The wildlife Collection & Classroom: The Findley Lake Nature Center is the honored recipient of a wildlife collection of 300 different species from all over the world. This collection is extremely diverse and rare and we have 50+ animals in our current classrooms for all to see. Additionally there are bird nests, snake skins and other specimens from which to learn. Join & Volunteer: Join the Findley Lake Nature Center through membership and volunteerism. Current programs and projects needing your expertise are designing and building habitats for our wild animals collection; expanding our trails and lookout areas;creation of new educational programs;teaching;participating as trail and exhibit room guids; and much more. we train all volunteers and experience is not necessary.
